About Me

I am at the point in my life where I am seeking a career, not a temporary job. In my current occupation as a Specialist for American Red Cross – Service to the Armed Forces Hero Care Center, I assist individuals over the phone instead of face to face. I assists clients send emergency messages to service members regarding their families. I want to be able to change people’s lives by connecting and interacting with people in my community. I want to be able to change people’s negative views towards their lives or situations into positive outlooks as well as gaining a sense of self worth in the process. I have always had a passion for helping others. I want to turn my passion into a career by being a social worker. Issues in today’s society such as poverty, discrimination, and equality are still major problems. These same issues inspire me even more to be an advocate for social change and justice.

I grew up in Lawton, OK , a military town with a diverse population. I attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK for my Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and am currently attending the University now for a Master’s degree in Social Work. I still live in Lawton, Oklahoma today with my spouse, son and Yorke. In my spare time I enjoy listening to music of all genres, writing, coloring and spending time with my family.
